Vintage and Collectible Book
Sale, May 17
The Vintage and Collectible Book
Sale, presented by the Friends of the
Deerfield Public Library, will run
Saturday, May 17, 9:30 a.m. – 3:00
p.m. Over 250 items will be on
display for sale, and remaining items
will be sold at 50% off on Sunday,
May 18, 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. In addition
to books, sale items include vintage
records and sheet music, used Play
Station/Xbox/Wii video games, and

Summer Reading sign-up starts
June 7
Tail waggin’ fun awaits children,
teens, and adults who participate in
the Summer Reading Program,
Paws to Read! Registration forms
will be available at the children’s and
adult service desks, and on the
Library’s website starting Saturday,
June 7.

The Library has over 60 popular
magazines available in digital format.
Read them online, on your
computer, or on your device with the
Zinio App. Perfect for a road trip or a
staycation. Have a title in mind? Just

Stars: Dog Trick Show”, Saturday,

Know someone that needs an
introduction to the basic ins and outs
of the personal computer? Hands-on
training in our comfortable Computer
Lab will be held Tuesday, June 3,

Manga Drawing Workshop, June

Teens are invited to join Manga artist
Addie Afable, as he guides you
through developing techniques in
character design and illustration
using this popular Japanese art form.

Vintage and Collectible Book
Sale, May 17
Come find the hidden treasure
you’ve been looking for! The Vintage
and Collectible Book Sale, presented
by the Friends of the Deerfield Public
Library, will run Saturday, May 17,

books will be on display for sale, and

Contest Winners
Congratulations to the winners of the
2014 Rosemary Sazonoff Writing
Contest: First Place - Laura Ashman,
Second Place - Jerry Levy, Third
Place - Trish Palzet. Their winning
essays, along with the essays from
the Children's division winners, are
available on the Library's website.
College of Lake County, May 10
A representative from the College of
Lake County (CLC) will be in the
Library lobby, Saturday, May 10,
10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., to provide
information about college programs
and services. CLC offers a wide
range of academic program choices
to meet students' educational needs
at different points in their lives.
