Library Winter program
registration starts December 3
Where can you find a jazz concert,
ACT/SAT practice tests, superhero
science storytime, and a blind date
setup (with a book)? All at the
Deerfield Public Library, of course!
Check out our gift basket of Winter
programs for children, tweens, teens,
and adults in the new issue of
Browsing. Registration opens 9:00

Youth iPads and Nabis now
available
New iPads loaded with educational
apps and Nabi Jr. tablets will be
available for in-Library use beginning
Monday, November 24, and can be
checked out at the Youth Services
desk. The devices were generously
donated by the Friends of the
Deerfield Public Library.

‘Tis the Season: Toy and Coat
collection
The Library will once again serve as
a drop-off point for the Marines Toys
for Tots program. Drop off new,

unwrapped toys in the Library lobby
through December 20. Also, clean,
good, used winter coats are being
collected for the Rotary Club through
Thanksgiving weekend.

Black Friday or Small Business
Saturday, stop by and relax at the
Library. We’re closing at 5:00 p.m. on

be closed on Thanksgiving Day.
Then we are back to regular hours:
Friday (9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.),

Keep!
Deerfield Public Library cardholders
can now download music from
thousands of artists directly to their
computers, tablets, and phones. The
Library is offering free downloads
through Freegal Music, which
provides access to over seven
million songs. You can download
three songs a week and stream
three hours of music a day. To get
started, visit
www.deerfieldlibrary.org/music. All
you need is your library card!

Rotary Coat Collection
Once again, the Library will be a
collection site for the Deerfield
Rotary Club “Coat Off Your Back”
initiative. Donation recipients include
the Lake County PADS. Last year
the Club collected nearly 200 coats.
The coat bin is located behind the
desk at the Library’s front entrance.
The collection continues through
Thanksgiving.

<text>Hoping to see you at the Library’s Grand Reopening,
Sunday, June 23, at 1 pm!
There will be a brief outdoor ceremony followed by the official ribbon cutting
Come and enjoy refreshments, entertainment and tours in the Library until about 4
pm
Materials can be returned through June 30 without incurring fines
Special note: Since the Library’s parking lot will be the site of the ribbon cutting ceremony,
we’ve included a map showing some alternate parking choices:
Our good friends at the First Presbyterian Church just south of the Library will allow
Library guests to use their lot on that day.
Additional parking is available at the Lindemann lot (behind Running Away
Multisport), Jewett Park parking lot off of Hazel Ave., Deerfield Metra Station on
Park Ave., and Holy Cross Church.
Limited Handicapped parking for cars displaying the appropriate placard will be
available behind the Deerfield Police Station. Please enter off of Waukegan Rd. and
Jewett Park Dr.
The Library lot will be open by 1:30 or 2 if you plan to come later.
Looking forward to seeing you!
